JOWLS
Slack or sagging skin under the jawline is a typical trait of Jowls. As we get older we naturally lose the skin’s elastin and collagen. Because of this inevitable loss in volume, the mid and lower face become vulnerable to changes, resulting in the formation of Jowls.
Both men and women can be prone to developing this condition, with the age of 40 and beyond being the most likely time. A person’s unique facial bone structure, as well as their genetics, lifestyle and other environmental contributors (like sun exposure, for example) can determine a person’s vulnerability to the appearance of Jowls. Many people with this condition feel the need to seek treatment advice, as they feel the Jowls cause their appearance to be perceived as grumpy or miserable, affecting their confidence and self esteem.
The treatment of Jowls can be very successful if approached early enough. When you attend the initial consultation, our practitioners will give you a personal recommendation to the treatment you will require, most suitable for you.
Treatment options may include the use of Dermal fillers which restores lost volume, or Botulinum Toxin to relax the muscles in the neck, which are the main causes for pulling on the jawline.
