TEETH GRINDING
Teeth grinding (or Bruxism), is a common condition whereby the patient suffers from an unconscious clenching of the teeth, both when they are awake, but more frequently when sleeping. Tooth grinding can be quite an uncomfortable condition and can lead to both physical pain or dental issues by way of damaged or chipped teeth and an increase of tooth sensitivity. In severe cases, the subconscious action can cause a plethora of issues for the patient, including headaches earaches and facial sensitivity. Less frequently, Bruxism can lead to a widening of the jaw.
At R&R Aesthetics, we treat Bruxism using Botulinum Toxin injections targeted at specific muscles to relax the muscle and temporarily prohibit the act of grinding or clenching of the teeth and jaw. The treatment is effective for around 4 months, and will bring considerable relief to the patient allowing them to enjoy improved wellness and better sleep.
